Special Needs Vans
Roadstar understands that a part of the community have similar aspirations to travel. Roadstar caravans is dedicated to assisting people with disability or mobility issues to experience, explore, enjoy and interact with the Australian environment. At Roadstar we understand that everybody is an individual, so an accessible design will depend on a number of key issues: - Who will be requiring the access? (yourself, your partner, your child, etc) - What level of disability does this person have? (Para, Quad, MS, etc) - What kind of access is the design for? (Manual wheelchair, Power chair, Scooter, etc) - What is your tow vehicle? (there are limits to the size of a caravan to be towed by a smaller vehicle)
As you can see there a number of factors to determine the size and layout of an accessible van. You may need bunks for the kids, two single beds or a queen size bed for two adults? You may need only need a ramp access or maybe a tailgate lift?
Roadstar strongly recommend you factor an accessible tiolet and wheel-in STEPLESS shower into your design. Never again be anxious about wheelchair access or disabled facilities when planning your next trip! Go everywhere! Stay anywhere!
That's why we developed the custom model 'Daintree Series', so our wheelchair footprint is measured for the best size entry door and internal floorplan layout.
So Roadstar undertook and in conjunction with designers and clients to develop a Special Needs Unit to design a van and appointa Specialised Dealer (Accessavan) to assist those clients with a disability or mobility issues to experience, explore, enjoy and interact with the Australian environment. Roadstar is commited to sharing our knowledge of designed caravans, helping you overcome the restrictions and limitations.
Roadstar have not only approached this area with design and innovation, but also with compassion. Roadstar have appointed a specific dealership to assist and cater for clients wioth special needs. Anthony Wake of Accessavan is a specialist in this area with knowledge and first hand experience, as he too is a paraplegic, but this did not hinder his passion for travelling or enjoying life in the outdoors. |
